On Sunday, March 26, 2023, Annie H. Lust passed away peacefully from complications of  Alzheimer’s. She was born in Baltimore, MD on August 9, 1943 to the late Sallie Harrell and David  Savage.      She completed her high school education at Booker T. Washington in Norfolk, VA. Annie worked  many years as a technician at Norfolk General Hospital until she moved to Washington, DC and  worked for the Department of Commerce Patents and Trademark for 28 years.    Annie was an active member of Lane Memorial CME Church of Washington, DC where she  served as a Stewardess. Annie was united in holy matrimony to Andre R. Lust on September 30,  2000. Annie loved Hand Dancing, swimming and traveling, and crab feasts.    The last words Annie heard before her passing was from Philippians 2:11:  Jesus Christ is Lord,  to the glory of God Almighty.    Annie is survived by her husband, Andre R. Lust, of Temple Hills, MD.  She leaves two children,  daughter, Lisa Y. Jones, of Upper Marlboro, MD, and son Victor A. Clark of Honolulu, HI. Sister,  Veronica Jones of Chesapeake, VA, three grandchildren, Jerrel Jones, of Gainesville, VA, LaShaunda  Clark, of Honolulu, HI, and Nyjah Tamashiroof Honolulu, HI; four great grandchildren, Janiah, Jayla, Jordan and Joshua Jones. Many cousins, nieces, a nephew and many friends.    A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, April 1st, 2023 at 11:00 am followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 pm at Gasch’s Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville,...

Mary Catherine Rasberry, 94, of Adelphi, Maryland, passed away Monday, March 6, 2023 at the  Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center, Silver Spring, MD. She was born on June 12,  1928 in Wilmington, NC, the daughter of the late Rev. Ralph James Rasberry, Sr. and Vera Mae  Maultsby Rasberry.     Catherine attended Mars Hill College in NC and enjoyed a career with the FBI in Washington,  D.C. She was a long-time member of Takoma Park Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., serving as  a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Bible Study Leader, church bus and Meals on Wheels driver.  She also assisted in planting new churches and gave daily witness and praise to her Lord, Jesus  Christ.    Left to cherish her memory are Bella Keke, Akiel, William, and Mary Catherine of the home;  sister-in-law Phyllis Rasberry; nieces: Jamie Kelly (Alan), Becky Zack (Steve); nephews: Ronald  Rasberry (Belva), Wayne Blair (Beverly), Bill Blair, Jr. (Sue); and many loved grandnieces and  grandnephews.    She was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph James Rasberry, Jr., her sister, Hilda Jean Blair,  and brother-in-law William Otey Blair, Sr., niece, Mary Esther Blair and nephew, Steven Lewis  Blair.    The funeral service will be held 12PM Saturday, March 25th at Takoma Park Baptist Church, 635  Aspen St NW, Washington, D.C. 20012. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the  service at the church.    The graveside service will be at 11am, Saturday, 1 April 2023 at Greenlawn Park, 1311 Shipyard  Blvd., Wilmington, N.C.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Takoma Park Baptist Church
