Madelyn Woodyard

Madelyn R. Woodyard, age 88, a long time resident of Mt. Rainier, MD, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home on Saturday, January 27, 2024.

Madelyn was born on June 1, 1935 in Upper Darby, PA and moved to Maryland at a young age. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Marie McCloskey, brothers George, Edward, and William, sisters Marie, Elizabeth, Ann, Cecilia, and her twin, Alice, her two sons, Richard Carlton Woodyard and Kirk Edward Woodyard, her beloved companion, Don McKay, and Riggo, her pooch.

Madelyn is survived by her two children, Kenneth James Woodyard and Diana Marie Lasko, grandson, Christopher Michael Woodyard, granddaughters, Kyra and Sierra Lasko, and many nieces and nephews.

She retired from the Prince George's County Maryland NCPPC after 20+ years of service.

She was loved by many and hated by none. She was a Die Hard Redskins Fan and a lover of all sports. On Sundays, you would find her at the College Park Moose a-hooting and a-hollering, cheering them on. Madelyn was always the life of the party and enjoyed life to the fullest.

Visitations and Memorial Service will be on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Gasch's Funeral Home: 4739 Baltimore Ave., Hyattsville, MD 20781.

A Celebration of Life will be held after the service at College Park Moose Club: 3700 Metzerott Rd., College Park, MD 20740.
