In loving memory of Paulette Giannakis Horan who passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020 of COVID19 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis, MD. She was 76 years old. Paulette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Horan, and her adored parents, Steve and Mary Jane Giannakis.
Born October 29,1943 in Richmond, VA, her family moved to Edmonston, MD where she lived until she graduated from Bladensburg High School in 1961. Later she became a legal secretary to Judge Hannon of the DC Superior Court. She was promoted to Office Manager of the DC Superior Court, a position which she held until she retired. She also served as the Mayor of the town of Edmonston, MD from 1983 until 2005.
Paulette is survived by two brothers, Steve Giannakis and James Giannakis; her sister-in-law Joyce Suloman, two nieces, Christine Hernandez and Stacey Williams; four cousins: Libby George, Nikki Nicholau, Vicky Nicholau, and Barbara Brinklow, all of Virginia, Jim Papatheodore of Michigan and Patti Papathodore of Pennsylvania .
Paulette was also blessed with many loyal, loving friends: Janine Page, Janette Eveler, and Jane Blume. She was also blessed with many great-nieces and great-nephews and a host of loving friends.
All of those who were fortunate to have known and loved Paulette will miss her sweet nature and loving spirit.
