Patricia Garris

June 19, 1949 — June 5, 2021

Patricia Garris was born 6/19/1949 and lovingly raised by her mother Texana Sutton in Washington, D.C, Patricia is survived by her daughters, Demaris Anita Brown of Mitchellville, Md, and Dawn Cheree' Garris of Alexandria Virginia.,  She has 6 Grandchildren: Darrin Brown Jr, Andria Malone, David Garris, Domenique Brown, Paris Garris, Abria Garris, and one great-grandson  Jaxon Frank, and one great-grandson on the way  Jayce Rodriguez. Sister Debra Marks, Patricia was originally from Helena Arkansas. In her lifetime she worked at the Department of Interior and retired from The United States Tax Court in the year 2000. My mother first belonged to Beaulah Baptist Church, and later on, attended Mount Ephriam Baptist Church where she served the Lord by singing in the choir In her leisure time. Patricia loved to travel, read the Enquirer magazine, and enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and friends. My mother was a very loving mother who always had a smile on her face, and she loved to dance., and also shopped a lot. for clothes, knick-knacks, and furniture. Patricia also spent a lot of time with her sister Debra Marks, and her niece Angela Marks. My mother really loved Art, and she enjoyed the beauty of things like flowers as she would call them so pretty as she smiled and adored them, I will miss her loving presence, her good cooking, and her playful nature that she mostly shared with her daughters and grandchildren, My mother may have left her body on Saturday, June 5, 2021, but she has really been gone for a good 4-5 years as she struggled with dementia. Ma we will definitely miss you but I find so much comfort in the fact that I know you always wanted to go home with your mother and now I know that you finally made your way to her and your son Don Jerome Jr. aka Juney. I am so happy for you that you do not have to struggle in your earthly body anymore but you are also present with the Lord! I love you Ma and you will always be in my heart! Special Thank you to all the caretakers, who helped my mother day today, which is Debra Marks, Dajae Marks, Don Garris Sr, Dawn Garris, Demaris Garris, and my neighbor and  daily caretaker Roxxanne Jackson
