Obituary

Parlett L. Moore, Jr., known to family as Bo and friends as “P.L.”, was born in Washington, D.C., and the middle child of Parlett L. Moore, Sr. and Thelma Crawford Moore. His early years were spent in Rockville, Maryland where he attended Lincoln Junior High School. Bo spent most of his High School years in Baltimore, Maryland where he graduated from Fredrick Douglas High School. He later graduated from Howard University, where he pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, and received a degree in electrical engineering. This led him to California where he worked for Lockheed Corporation.

After returning to the East Coast, Bo worked at several colleges including Morgan State College and Allen College as a science instructor. He later took a job with the Federal Department of Transportation from which he retired on January 2 , 2005 after 35 years of service. 

Bo enjoyed Jazz, hunting, fishing, boating, and just being outdoors around the water. He spent much of his time around his beach house in Annapolis. Bo was also an active organizer and participant in the annual Maritime Republic of Eastport and Annapolis Tug-of-War charity event. 

Parlett spent 50+ years with his life partner, Sarah Ceasar, who preceded him in death in November 2021. They spent many good years traveling and enjoying family and friends in summers at the Annapolis beach home.  

Parlett is survived by his twin sons, Paul and Pierre Beauchemin; brother, Daniel C. Moore, Sr; two nephews, Oliver Alexander Smith, Jr. and Daniel C. Moore, Jr.; three nieces, Monica Smith, Yvette Moore, and Alicia James; one grandniece, Gwendolyn Smith; grandnephew, Logan James; and a number of other relatives. He was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Marie Smith; his parents, Parlett L. Moore, Sr. and Thelma Crawford Moore; and his life partner Sarah Ceasar.
