Donald Muse, Sr.

February 25, 1936 — October 12, 2021

Donald Perry Muse, Sr., son of the late Marion Charles Pritchett and the late Mary Cecelia Muse Pritchett, was born in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, February 25, 1936.  He transitioned from his earthly home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.  Donald graduated from Chester High School in Chester, Pennsylvania.  In 1955, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving as a radio operator in the rank of Airman Second Class.  After his honorable discharge in 1959, he moved back to Washington, D.C., where he married the former Anna Mae Wiggins. They had three children.

Donald enrolled in the Armstrong Technical School for veterans, that prepared him for his Federal Government career. He worked at the U.S. Government Printing Office as a bookbinder for 34 years, retiring in 1996.  He loved to travel with his long-time companion, Connie Boone (deceased) and was an avid bowler, winning lots of trophies in his bowling tournaments in many East Coast cities.

He rededicated his life to The Lord and joined the City of Praise Family Ministries in 2001.  He loved attending church, and enjoyed working with the production ministry, assisting with printing the message outlines for Sunday services.  He will long be remembered for his cheerful smile, his positive attitude, and his ability to make others laugh.

Donald is survived by his three children; Karen Johnson of Laurel, MD, Deborah Muse of Washington, DC, and Donald Muse, Jr. (Charlita) of Waldorf, MD; four grandchildren; Donald Muse, III of Queens, NY, Nicole Johnson of Laurel, MD, Donnell Muse of Oakland, CA, and Donya Muse of Waldorf, MD; cousins Oswald Weedon and Tena Weedon of Washington, DC; his best friend, James Moton (Dorothy) of Washington, DC; his extended family, the Boones of Washington, DC; and a host of other family and friends.
