Antoinette Ebondo

January 2, 1937 — April 20, 2021

Antoinette Ebondo of Hyattsville, Maryland passed away on Tuesday April 20, 2021 at Prince Georges University of Maryland Hospital. Antoinette was a native of the Democratic Republic of Congo, born in Bakime Village in Kasaii Oriental Province to King Meko-a-Ngongo and Queen Cecilia Ndjibu. She was loving, kind, motherly to all the friends and kids in our Congolese community and our Maryland neighborhoods, with an ever ready smile with everyone.  She loved life, fashion and was the true embodiment of youth. At 84 years young, our mother did not have a single wrinkle on her face, she would have easily passed for a 50 years old beautiful woman and we used to tease her about that.

Mrs. Ebondo is survived by her loving husband Trudon Mukoko and she leaves behind her daughters: Therese Mulekye Mukoko of Hyattsville Maryland; Christine Mwamine of Lubumbashi DRC, Jeand’Arc Lewis of Merritt Island Florida with her son-in-law Perry Lewis and granddaughter Dorothy Lewis, Genevieve Kikidu of Lubumbashi DRC., Bernadette Ebondo of Lubumbashi DRC, Olyvette de Oliveira of Paris France.  She is also survived by her sons: Leopold Tempelo of Lubumbashi DRC, Pascal Epupua of Kinshasa DRC, Joseph Kiomba of Kinshasa DRC.  She leaves behind many grandchildren to count a few; Rachel Nyongani, Fabrice Mukoko in the USA, Nelson de Oliveira, Olivier St. Flye Marie in France and great grandchildren Marie-Rachel Ngoyi in the USA. Antoinette lost her son Dieudonne Mukoko last year and is survived by his children.

The very large family is mourning her passing from Washington, to Kinshasa, to Lubumbashi, to Paris, to London, to Bruxelles. She will be greatly missed by all.

Thank you Antoinette for being a Christian woman of faith, a loving wife, mom, grandma, great grandma and great great grandma.  May the Lord accepts you in his Kingdom….
