Wayne S. Parker (Steve)

June 8, 1950 — May 13, 2026

Wayne Stephen Parker was born on June 8, 1950 in Washington, D.C. to John and Myrtle Parker. He was the fifth of eight children and the second of his three brothers. He was a graduate of Bladensburg High School. One of his favorite classes was the electrical trades class and during his summers, he worked with a good friend whose father had an electrical business.

Later on, he and his friends joined the Cottage City and Colmar Manor Fire Department where Steve gave many hours of community service to his hometown of Colmar Manor. He made many great friends as a volunteer and served over 20 years until he finally decided to retire from the fire department.

His one passion was being a firefighter and he took great pride in his commitment as a volunteer member.

Later, he worked for the phone company as an installer of phone service and worked his way through the ranks to many other positions until many years later he retired from the phone company.

Steve eventually met the love of his life Bonne O'Quin and married her on December 25, 1987 in Upper Marlboro, Maryland and they were happily married for 38 years. The marriage brought Steve Bonnie's three sons he treated as his own. Another blessing came to Steve when the sons brought children into the world making Steve a granpa!

Steve leaves behind his loving wife Bonnie, her son's CJ (Heather) daughter Persephone, Shyanne; Ken (Tabitha) Felicia, Victoria, Chris, Alex; Bill and his sons William (Liam), Bradley along with six great-granddaughters and one great-grandson; his sisters Janet and Sherry and his brothers Tommy and Terry as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his loving Aunt Mary Armstrong.

Steve is now in Heaven with his parents, sisters Pat, Linda, and Cathy.
