Virginia Drain

Virginia ‘Faye’ Drain, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. She was the wife of the late Johnny Drain, who was the love of her life for over 60 years. They lived in Hyattsville, MD together for over 55 years.

Born in Ironton, Ohio to the late Edgar and Edith Moore.

Faye had been a proud employee of Verizon, formerly Bell Atlantic for over 15 years. As well as a member of First Baptist Church of Hyattsville.

Enjoying her life fully, to Faye, meant enjoying all of the little moments and making memories with loved ones. She enjoyed time with family and friends, celebrating holidays and birthdays together, baking and decorating fancy birthday cakes, cooking, and gardening. She was known for her caring heart, warm personality, her generosity, always present smile, and her delicious lasagna and deviled eggs.

Faye was preceded in death by her loving husband Johnny Drain, devoted daughter Teresa “Terry” Jackson, and great-granddaughter Savannah.

Faye is survived by her son John Drain Jr. and his wife, Stacey Drain; her son Donald Drain and his wife, Kathleen Drain; her son-in-law Tarry Jackson; granddaughters Jennifer Jordan, Jeannine Gaffigan, Jessica Drain, and Vanessa Drain; and great-grandchildren Elizabeth and Emily Jordan, and Daniel, Landon, Madison, and Michael Gaffigan.

Faye is also survived by her beloved sister Betty Fraley, Ironton, OH; dear sisters-in-law Mary Moore and Sue Moore; as well as cousins and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, daughter, great-granddaughter, and parents, Faye was preceded in death by her sister Phyllis Ackison, and brothers Buddy Moore and Joe Ed Moore.

Faye was the sweetest, most thoughtful woman you could ever meet; we will carry her memory in our hearts forever!

A viewing and funeral service will be held at Gasch’s Funeral Home of Hyattsville, MD on Thursday, August 25, 2022. The viewing will be from 10am – 12pm, followed by a funeral service at 12pm.
