Susan "Suzie" Lee Talbert of the City of Hyattsville, Maryland passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 26, 2026 at the age of 72. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Janet and Guy Talbert of University Park, MD and her dear friend Desiree Holland. Suzie was raised in the City of Hyattsville and graduated from Northwestern High School. She worked for the Hecht Company and the Federal Government before relocating to Orlando, Florida where she worked for the Holiday Inn. She returned to Maryland living in Greenbelt before moving to her home on Madison Street in the City of Hyattsville. She continued her life long passion of home gardening creating one of the loveliest gardens on Madison Street. Suzie enjoyed a long career in the floral industry and later with Michael's in Laurel, MD. Suzie brought her floral talents to the Madison Street Pig Roast providing patriotic arrangements for more than 30 years. She also enjoyed tap dancing and china painting. She loved getting dressed up to celebrate birthdays and special occasions at elegant restaurants with friends. Throughout the years Suzie provided loving and passionate care for her mother. She also worked as support staff for Desiree Holland who lived in her own home on Madison Street. Suzie and Desiree loved shopping together, going to Union Station, concerts and adventures such as a cruise to the Bahamas with Special Olympics families and volunteers. Suzie loved the beach, spending many holidays in her own special room at the Nags Head home of the Holland family. She loved live music, dancing, partying and reunions with Northwestern High School classmates Jan, Patty and Rhonda. Suzie cherished her life in Hyattsville and the many neighbors who became dear friends. Above all she loved her dog "Buddy". He was her constant companion and was with her on all of her vacations. Each year Suzie and Candy used the excuse of "last minute" Christmas shopping so they could have a long lunch at Rip's in Bowie over crab cakes, Bloody Mary's and Jack Daniel's. Suzie was notorious for her unique way of ordering a Bloody Mary. Suzie brought so much joy to everyone who knew her and was an integral and beloved member of our community. Suzie is survived by her closest chosen family members Candy and Doug Holland, beloved friends Janet Tavarone Proper, Rhonda and AL Stark, Patty Quigley Johnsen, Molly and her friends and neighbors of Madison Street all of whose lives have been forever enriched for having known her.
