Shirley Anne Levy passed away on February 23, 2026. Born February 14, 1936 (Valentine's Day) in Washington DC.
She grew up in Bethesda, MD with Father & Mother. Richard & Bessie Blackistone and older sisters Joan & Nancy. She attended Bethesda/Chevy Chase High School and the University of Maryland in College Park. She lived in New Carrolton, MD since 1965 while married for 52 years to her loving husband Stanley S. Levy and her loving children, Mark Blackistone Levy and Elizabeth Dawn Levy. She took hundreds of foster children over many years and was remember by those who often visited her. She was a congressional secretary on Capital Hill working fore Congressman James Quigley of Pennsylvania. She won the Miss Capitol Beauty Contest in 1960. She spent summers in Ocean City, Maryland at her fabulously decorated ocean front penthouse condominium since 1977. She outlived most of her many friends. She had a truly amazing life! She is survived by her son Mark Blackistone Levy, her sister Joan Wadsworth and Husband John (formerly windowed to Scott Horan) and their children Bill and Sharon, cousins Judy & Patricia Blackistone and nephew Andrew Dorfman.
Her viewing will be held on May 15th at Gasch's Funeral Home in Hyattsville, MD from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Services & burial will be held at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD on May 18th at 2:30pm, Her husband Stanley serviced in World War II in the submarine service.
