Heaven was stormed by an amazing angel on Christmas morning.
Rhonda Calvetti Lilly entered the world on August 4th, 1965, and changed it for so many people - with her boundless determination and enthusiasm for life.
She overcame every obstacle life threw at her with grace and optimism.
If you knew Rhonda, you know that no one could ever hold her down.
Her two children, Carla and Aaron, were the lights of her life, along with her grand babies Cohen, Camden and Piper. She was the world's best grandma, lavishing them with enough love and memories to last a lifetime. Carla and her husband Matt, and Aaron and his wife Stephanie, are determined to keep Rhonda’s fun-loving, energetic, fearless and giving spirit alive in their children.
She was the cherished and devoted sister of Luci and her daughters Skylar, Logan, Isabel and Dani.
Rhonda was reunited with her sister and best friend Darlene, who has been waiting at the top of the stairway to heaven for 32 years.
She is also survived by her brother, Bill Menefee and mother Betty Krashoc.
She was ultimately the caregiver for her dad, William Menefee, from whom she’d been separated most of her life, and who died this past July.
No one will miss Rhonda more than her husband, Michael, who was destined to love her the moment he sat down next to her. Her fiery, straight-shooting wit, her goofy sense of humor and her love of life lit his world. She became an instant hot shot in the Lilly family!
The love and devotion of her many friends is a testament to the genuine person she was. Thoughtful, honest, generous and resilient, she was ready and willing to help anyone who needed it.
Cancer may have overcome Rhonda’s body, but never dimmed her indomitable spirit.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Mandrin Hospice House. They were committed to Rhonda, her care and the care of everyone around her. They provided her the dignity of a peaceful end to her beautiful life.
Rhonda’s faith carried her throughout her rocky life, to the very last, knowing that she was loved and protected.
“Where you see one set of footprints, that is where I carried you”
