Abuelo - Raul Javier Belmonte

On July 23, 2023, Raul Javier Belmonte – better known to all as Abuelo – passed away as gracefully as he lived for 88 years – asleep at home with his faithful dog, Dosi, by his side.

Beloved father of Ruth Schuett; loving Abuelito (grandfather) of Maritza Savage (Jeff), Raul Schuett (Diana), Nicole Lefkowitz (Rich) and Michelle Schuett. Also survived by his sister Martha Belmonte; son Alex Schuett (Ana Maria); great grandchildren, Jordan, Jennifer, Jessica, Reese, Jackson, Javier, Hudson and Garcia; and a large number of family and friends – many for whom he was affectionately known as ‘Abuelo’.

Abuelo had a deep love for classical music, for nature, for animals and for life itself. He always found beauty in small details and reminded us of the importance of appreciating each day as a precious gift. His contagious joy and enthusiasm will always remind us how essential it is to enjoy every moment and not take what we have for granted.

As most of you know, Abuelo played a very special role in our family’s lives.  He was so present and involved that he was like a 3^rd parent to his grandchildren. Abuelo was a steady, calm, and loving presence in our lives. He was our safe haven, he provided stability and reassurance. We are shattered by his sudden passing, but we are so grateful for the healthy years we had with him.

Your presence at the memorial gathering to honor Abuelo’s life will be very much appreciated. It will be held on Saturday August 5^th 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. at Gasch’s Funeral Home. See the bottom of this page for the address and details on the Service Schedule. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions to help cover service costs and care for Abuelito's treasured dog, Dosi.

El 23 de julio de 2023, Raúl Javier Belmonte, más conocido por todos como Abuelo, falleció con la misma benevolencia y paz con la que vivió sus 88 años, dormido en su casa con su fiel perro, Dosi, a su lado.  

Amado padre de Ruth Schuett; amoroso Abuelito de Maritza Savage (Jeff), Raul Schuett (Diana), Nicole Lefkowitz (Rich) y Michelle Schuett. También le sobreviven su hermana Martha Belmonte; hijo Alex Schuett (Ana María); bisnietos, Jordan, Jennifer, Jessica, Reese, Jackson, Javier, Hudson y García; y una gran cantidad de familiares y amigos, muchos de los cuales lo conocían cariñosamente como 'abuelo'.

El abuelo tenía un amor profundo por la música clásica, por la naturaleza, por los animalitos y por la vida misma. Siempre encontró la belleza en los pequeños detalles y nos recordaba la importancia de apreciar cada día como un regalo precioso. Su alegría y entusiasmo contagiosos nos recordarán siempre lo esencial que es disfrutar cada momento y no dar por sentado lo que tenemos.

Como la mayoría de ustedes saben, Abuelo desempeñó un papel muy especial en la vida de nuestra familia. Estaba tan presente e involucrado que era como un tercer padre para sus nietos. El abuelo era una presencia constante, tranquila y amorosa en nuestras vidas. Él fue nuestro refugio seguro, nos brindó estabilidad y seguridad. Estamos destrozados por su repentino fallecimiento, pero estamos muy agradecidos por los años saludables que tuvimos con él.

Su presencia en la reunión conmemorativa en honor a la vida de Abuelo será muy apreciada. Se llevará a cabo el sábado 5 de agosto de 1:00 a 5:00 p.m. con un servicio conmemorativo a las 2:30 p.m. en la funeraria de Gasch. Vea a continuación la dirección y los detalles de la reunión.
