Michelle Lynn Dowsett

Michelle Lynn Dowsett, born June 22, 1972, passed away on April 16^th, 2023. She was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, and attended Radford University. Michelle loved music, having studied voice in college, and continued to be a life-long supporter of music with a particular interest in electronic alternative music. Following her mother’s passion for sewing, and crafts, she was a member of the sewing guild and was known for expressing herself through Victorian-era garment construction and enjoyed wearing her creations at social events.

Despite surviving a debilitating car accident, Michelle continued for years to express her joy and love for friends and family, and for living life as fully as possible, with determination to not be hindered in cherishing music, travel, and community. Michelle was a strong and passionate person for women and LGBTQIA+ rights. The memory of her strength, generosity, and love of desserts will be cherished by her loved ones. She is survived by her husband Marty Bearstop, stepfather Larry Koehler, and her father Richard Hatcher, and is preceded in death by her brother Ricky Hatcher, and mother Mary Koehler.
