Mary Grace Caroline Seath, beloved and long-awaited daughter of William and Annalee Seath of Hyattsville, MD, died shortly after her birth on May 28, 2026, in Philadelphia, PA, of complications from left atrial isomerism, a rare congenital heart defect. Her brief life was full of moments of tenderness, compassion, and beauty, including her baptism by her father.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister and brother, Helena Rose and Thomas Fulton; her grandparents, Janet Seath of Pittsburgh, PA, Brian (Gayla) Janke of Yukon, OK, and Luanne Janke of Oklahoma City, OK; her aunts and uncle, Christine Jennings of Fombell, PA, Heather Kolesar (and cousins Kevin and Nathan) of Fombell, PA, and Katelan and Jonathan LeClair (and cousins Lawrence and Patrick) of Durant, OK. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, William R. Seath, and uncle, Curtis Jennings.
Mary Grace's family is forever grateful to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), where she and her mother received exceptional care, and for the many parishioners of St. Jerome and other Hyattsville neighbors who have provided them with ongoing prayers, comfort, and care since Mary Grace's initial diagnosis in February.
Visitation is private. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Hyattsville on Monday, June 15th, at 10am. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, MD.
Donations in Mary Grace's memory may be made to the Fetal Heart Program, Special Delivery Unit, or Child Life Center at CHOP, or to the organization Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, which provides remembrance portraits for families experiencing the death of an infant.
