June Wickheiser

June L. Wickheiser of Hyattsville, MD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 3, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Floyd W. Wickheiser and loving mother of Brenda (Calvin) Sears of Crownsville, MD; Gary (Denise) Wickheiser of Lothian, MD; Vicki (Joseph) Gutierrez of St. Leonard, MD; Tim (Debbie) Wickheiser of North Beach, MD; Bonnie (Chester) Williamson of Winter Springs, FL, and Sherry (Jim) Parsons of Friendship, MD.
June, or "Potsy" as she was affectionately known, was born October 16, 1931 in Washington, DC -- the sixth of 12 children to John E. and Marie (McGuigan) Cook. She is survived by her siblings, Norman Cook, Marie Stillwell, Delores Mills, Barbara Hill, Patricia Hatfield, and Mildred Hill and was predeceased by siblings, Emory Cook, Doris Wessel, Marjorie McCullough, Donald Cook, and Allen Cook.
June is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and more than 30 nieces and nephews. A truly loving and compassionate spirit is gone from this world, but love and compassion are the legacies she leaves to her family.
Family and friends may call at Gasch's Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD on Tuesday, November 8 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service will be held at Gasch's on Wednesday, November 9 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, MD.
