Joyce Ann Woods (Ford), 81, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, in Crownsville, Maryland. Born on September 25, 1944, in Washington, D.C., Joyce lived a life devoted to her family, her profession, and the well-being of others.
She was the beloved mother of 3 sons and 1 daughter: Ronnie Crampton and his wife Dorian, Timothy Crampton, Kristen (Woods) Medina and her husband Victor, and Kyle Woods and his wife Gina. Joyce was a proud Maw Maw to fourteen grandchildren—Tim Colliere, Justin Colliere, Tara Crampton, Erika Crampton, Delaney Crampton, Lucy Crampton, Mady Crampton, Finley Crampton, Brookelyn Morrison, Khloe Medina, Kelsi Medina, Ruby Woods, Grayson Woods, and Jake Woods—and one great-grandchild, Brooke Reggie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Thelma Ford.
Joyce’s life was marked by her unwavering dedication to motherhood. She was a constant presence in her children’s lives, especially at all of their events growing up. From HMB Boys and Girls Club games to high school football at Northwestern High School, pom competitions at St. Vincent Pallotti High School and wrestling matches at DeMatha Catholic High School, her steadfast support throughout the years was visible to all!
Joyce was a proud graduate of Anacostia High School’s Class of 1962 and spent most of her life as a resident of Hyattsville, MD.
Professionally, Joyce spent her adult life in graphic design. She found creative fulfillment and lasting friendships in her work and took particular pride in her contributions to the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters and International Union of Elevator Constructors Journals as well as the Asbestos Workers magazine.
An animal lover at heart, Joyce supported causes promoting animal welfare, especially those benefiting dogs. She cherished time at the beach and treasured family vacations to Ocean City, MD and the Outer Banks, NC.
