It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joe Ann Keenan, cherished mother to Jean (Melvin), Earl, David, and Karen (Darryl), who departed peacefully on April 29, 2025. Her absence leaves an irreplaceable void within her family.
Born in Washington, DC, Joe Ann spent her childhood in Maryland, where she resided for the majority of her life before making her final home in Pennsylvania.
Joe Ann was predeceased by her parents, Susie and Clifton Deward, her former husband, David A. Keenan, Sr., her beloved son, Earl L. Keenan, and all of her siblings.
She is survived by three children and their partners, nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom she held dearly at heart.
Joe Ann was known for her spirited determination and boundless love, prioritizing her family above all else. She also found joy in travel, the beach, motorcycles, music, dancing, supporting her favorite football team, the Washington Commanders (Redskins), and spending time with her beloved Maine Coons, Bono, Minx, and Jax, who remained devoted companions. In recent years, she embraced new experiences, such as swimming and attending her very first live baseball game, which brought her such joy.
Joe Ann will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Her enduring love and legacy will forever be cherished in our hearts and memories.
