Janet Eileen Kidwell

Janet Eileen Kidwell (Trott), 74 of College Park, MD passed away April 9, 2026. Janet was born to David C. Trott Jr. and Charlotte Teresa Trott (Swartzwelder) on July 27, 1951. She graduated DuVal High School, after attending St. Mary’s Catholic School and Holy Redeemer School. She worked at Norman Dietch where she met some of her very close friends. Subsequently, Janet and her late husband Michael Kidwell founded EmKay Construction in Prince George’s County, MD and settled in College Park, MD.

Janet was stepmother to - Missy, Debbie and Cheryl

Grandmother to - Ben, Scarlett, Shane, Farrah, Lindsey, Moses, Jimmy, John Ryan, Kyle, Meghan, Jessy, David, and Kelly.

Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother to many great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Her family and friends remember her as joyful and happy with a ready disposition to shower everyone with an abundance of hugs and kisses. Many will also remember her as “Granny Janny” even as they grew into adulthood with their own families and children. Janet left an indelible imprint of memories in the hearts and minds of all she touched. Granny Janny loved Sundays with Mikey, Ben and Scarlett, Hallmark movies, holidays with friends and family and her annual Myrtle Beach trip with her sister Terri. Her physical disability neither stopped nor in any way impeded her infectious enthusiasm for life.

Janet is survived by her siblings David, Timmy, Terri and husband Dave Watts as well as her nephews and nieces Mikey, Petey, Vincent, Taylor, David, Rachel, and Kyrai. A multitude of others in the family will forever know how gifted they have been by her presence and caring.

Please join us in celebrating her life at the viewing on Friday, April 24, 2026 between 2:00 p.m. – 4 p.m., and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Gasch’s Funeral Home, 4739 Baltimore Ave., Hyattsville, MD, 20781. Mass service will be held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church at 10 am on Saturday, April 25th.
