On May 3, 2007, of Mechanicsville, Maryland formerly of Lanham, Maryland. Husband of the late Shirley L. Shirley. Mr. Shirley is survived by his sons James, Jr. and Charles Shirley daughters-in-law Brenda and Deborah Shirley, his sister Dody Carroll, nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends at Gasch's Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, Maryland on Tuesday, May 8 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Wednesday, May 9 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Hospice of St. Mary's, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
