On Sunday, February 19, 2017 of Mt. Rainier, MD, formerly of La Paz, Bolivia. Loving husband of 65 years to Maria A. Ruiz Machicado. Beloved father of Maria A. Velez, Miriam A. (Arturo) Esprella, Elizabeth R. (Thomas) Woodall, Caroline R. (Jorge Luis) Rodriguez. Dear grandfather of Andrew L. Esprella, Diego A. Velez, Daniel A. Rodriguez, Jaime L., Rodriguez, Alexandra R. Rodriguez, Katlin E. Woodall, Michael T. Woodall, and their pets, Spartan Rodriguez and Sadie Woodall. Brother of Eddy Ruiz and Jugo Nelson Ruiz. He was one of the first Bolivian business owners in the Washington, D.C. Area. He was one of the first organizers of the Hispanic Festival in the Adams Morgan Area. He was the President of the Bolivian Association of Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Area. He was also a member of the Bolivian Association in Jujuy, Argentina. He was a sponsor of the Bolivian Youth Soccer League in Mt. Rainier, and he also worked for the Bureau of Printing and Engraving. Friends may call at Gasch's Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD on Friday, March 3 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, 7600 Old Keene Road, Springfield, VA on Saturday, March 4 at 11:30 AM. Inurnment Fairfax Memorial Park, Fairfax, VA.

Ejemplar padre de Maria A. Velez, Miriam A. (Arturo) Esprella, Elizabeth R. (Thomas) Woodall, Caroline R. (Jorge Luis) Rodriguez. Querido abuelo de Andrew L. Esprella, Diego A. Velez, Daniel A. Rodriguez, Jaime L. Rodriguez, Alexandra R. Rodriguez, Katlin E. Woodall, Michael T. Woodall, y sus mascotas, Spartan Rodriguez y Sadie Woodall. Hermano de Eddy Ruiz y Hugo Nelson Ruiz. El Sr. Jaime fue uno de los primeros empresarios bolivianos en establecerse en el área de Washington, DC, propietario de Florida Market, Stanton Park Market y PanAmerican Laundromat. También fue propietario de Norge Village Laundromat en College Park, MD. Fue presidente de la Asociación Boliviana del Área metropolitana de Washington, DC, fue miembro de la Asociación Boliviana en Jujuy, Argentina. Él fue patrocinador de la liga de futbol para jóvenes de Mount Rainier y trabajó para la oficina del Treasury Department Printing and Engraving.
