Jack Bennett Giove passed away, at the age of 92, on Thursday, June 24th, 2021 at Doctors Hospital in New Carrollton following a long battle with COPD. Jack was known by many of his close friends as “Rocky”, and was born and raised in Riverdale, MD. He was the son of John A Giove and Gladys (Taylor) Giove. He leaves his sons, Michael Giove, Daniel Giove, Eric Giove, Danny Davis, Terry Davis, and daughters Sandra Giove, and Deborah Dees, and his brothers Richard Witte, Dave Witte, and Donnie Giove. There are 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and close friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Billie June Giove, and his parents, John Giove and Gladys Witte, and his brothers Harry and Robert Witte. He spent most of his life as a resident in New Carrollton, and Riverdale, MD. In his early years, he worked as Plasterer for John H. Hampshire as a union journeyman and foreman. He has been retired for many years and has been a supportive member of the Riverdale Elks Club. A viewing will be held at GASCH'S FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD, on Wednesday, July 7th between 4-8 pm. A funeral service will be at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD on Thursday, July 8th at 11:15 am. The procession will be leaving promptly from Gasch’s Funeral Home at 10:15 am.
