Imogene Emerson Quarry, 90, of Greenbelt, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. Devoted Mother to four children, Ronald Quarry, Judy (Marty) Isles, Shirley A. Attick, and Denise (William) Smith. Caring grandmother to seven grandchildren: Jennifer (Brian), Martin, Kristy (Michael), Joshua, Matthew, Katelyn, and Drew. Adored great-grandmother to twelve great-grandchildren: Makonnen, Marcus, Robert, David, Makenzi, Maci, Hunter, Phillip, Maxinne, Trinity, Ayden, and Dylan. Sister to Douglas (Kathy) Emerson and Sister-in-law, Nanabelle Garner. Imogene is also survived by several nieces and nephews; as well as many cherished extended family and friends. Imogene was preceded in death by her mother, Lena Kate Emerson, her husband, Dale Lorren Quarry, her son-in-law, Michael James Attick, and dear friends, Margaret “Aunt Peg” Shorter and Shirley J. Attick.
Imogene was born on June 18th, 1935, in Coeburn, Virginia. She moved to Washington, D.C. as a teenager, and spent her adult life in Greenbelt, Maryland with her late husband of 48 years, where they happily raised their four children. She dedicated over 50 years working as a bakery assistant and a cashier at Co-Op Supermarket.
Whether sharing laughter with family and friends, listening to her favorite country songs, or savoring her morning coffee with something sweet, she embraced life’s simple pleasures with a full and grateful heart.
Friends may call at Gasch’s Funeral Home, P.A. 4739 Baltimore Ave, Hyattsville, MD, on Sunday, December 14th from 11 A.M. until service time at 12 noon. Interment immediately following at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Rd, Brentwood, MD.
