George “Skip” Charles Giddens Jr., 74, of Hyattsville, MD, a proud United States Marine and veteran of the Vietnam War, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2019 in Crownsville, MD. Skip was preceded in death by his beloved wife and life partner of 31 years, Lynta Maria (Moore) in 2017. The loving father of, and survived by, Kimberlee Newman (Giddens) and stepfather to D.J., Chris (Tova) Teegarden; adored “Paw-Paw” of Derek, Brandon Newman, Abigail, and Ryan Teegarden.
Skip enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1965 at the age of 19 and served as an Infantry Rifleman until being Honorably Discharged 1967. Upon his return from Active Service, Skip went to work for Sears where he found his talent working with his hands as an Appliance Repair Technician. Skip was employed with various companies over the years until starting his own successful business, Skip’s Appliance Service, which he owned and operated until being called home.
Friends may call at Gasch’s Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville MD on Thursday November 14, from 11 AM until service time at 12 PM. Interment following the service at MD Veteran’s Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
