Gary Stephen Burton

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Stephen Burton, age 79, on June 6, 2025.

Gary, a loving father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully left us surrounded by family.

Born on July 25, 1946, Gary was a devoted family man, known for his kind heart and approachable

nature. He served with honor during the Vietnam War in a Medivac unit, where he dedicated himself to

helping others in their time of need. His service was a testament to his selflessness, a quality that carried

through his life.

In his civilian years, Gary built a successful career in automotive customer service, where his personable

and friendly demeanor earned him respect and admiration from both colleagues and customers. His

professionalism, matched only by his kindness, made him a staple in his field for many years.

Gary was an incredibly proud father and grandfather. He cherished every moment spent with his three

children—Shannon Denise Petrillo, William Scott Burton, and Richard Clark Grimes—and his many

grandchildren. His love for his family was evident in all that he did, and he found immeasurable joy in

seeing his grandchildren grow and flourish.

Gary will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his loved ones, his warm smile, and his

generous spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, loyalty, and the lasting impact of a life well-

lived. While his presence will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to bring comfort and

inspiration to all who knew him.

Gary is survived by his three children: Shannon Denise Petrillo, William Scott Burton, and Richard Clark

Grimes; and his cherished grandchildren.

A private family service will be held in Gary’s honor. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for

donations to be made to a veteran’s organization of their choice, in recognition of Gary’s proud service

to his country.
