Fraya Jayne Kerns

Fraya Jayne Kerns, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center in Baltimore. She was 85.

Fraya was born on November 24, 1940, in Orlando, Florida, to the late James and Ruth Eaton.

On October 24, 1964, she married John Boyd Kerns, Jr., and together they raised six children.

Fraya is survived by her children, Michael Kerns (Jennifer) of York, PA, Michelle Rieve (Chuck) of Crownsville, MD, Shannon Kerns of Crofton, MD, James Kerns (Martina) of Odenton, MD, Timothy Kerns (Sonja) of Easton, MD, and Jennifer Kerns of Crownsville, MD, two sisters, Sharyn Ganey and Debbie Means, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews and in-laws.

The funeral service will take place Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Gasch’s Funeral Home, P.A., Hyattsville, Maryland, from 11:00 a.m. to noon. Interment will follow at the Crownsville Veterans’ Cemetery.
