Francesco G. Carioti
Francesco "Frank" Carioti, retired furniture restoration specialist of over 55 years and father of five sons, passed away on March 1, 2024 at an assisted living facility in Pasadena, MD. He courageously fought cardiac-related illness for many years and finally succumbed to complications from a recent stroke.
Frank emigrated to the United States in 1964, where he met his future wife Adriana Busti, while a parishioner at the Holy Rosary Church in Washington, D.C. They married in 1965 and started a family soon after.
Frank was a gifted woodworker, refinishing centuries old antiques and pieces of furniture that adorn law firms, lobbying firms, and The United States Capitol. He worked most of his career at Prosperi Company and The Washington Woodworking Company.
In his spare time, Frank was a photography enthusiast and spent many hours in the darkroom perfecting his developing and processing skills. He also had a knack for making short films on Super 8 and then transitioned to video format. He was an avid Washington Nationals and Washington Capitals fan, but especially loved World Cup Soccer.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents Ugo and Ida Carioti, and his brother Renzo, of Fabriano, Italy. He is survived by his siblings Silvia, Roberto, and Alessandro; his former wife Adriana Carioti; his children Andy (Sue) Carioti, Ricky (Molly) Carioti, Steven (Bobi) Carioti, Paul (Kenan) Carioti, John Carioti, and partner Lucia Tyler; and his grandchildren Anthony, Christina, Oliva, Gemma, Luca, Anna, Adriana, Gianni, Capri, and Victor.
