Eugene Gray Phillips, Sr.
"Gene"
On November 26, 2006, in Deerfield Beach, Florida formerly of Hyattsville, Maryland. He was the cherished husband for 50 years to Katie C. Phillips. His loving family, including children Pat Hogan, Louise Cullen, Gray Phillips, Jr., and Kelly Phillips, siblings Jo Ann and Jerry Phillips, 10 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren also survive. Preceded in death by brothers James and Steve Phillips and a sister, Patricia Phillips.
Mr. Phillips, known to all as Gene, served in the United States Navy from 1945 until he was honorably discharged in 1950. From 1967 until 1984 he owned and operated Chincoteague Restaurant in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Mrs. Katie Phillips and her family will receive friends at
Gasch's Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, Maryland 20781 on Sunday, July 15, 2007 from 2:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 3:00 p.m. The interment will be held privately.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 11331 Amherst Avenue, Silver Spring,
Maryland 20902.
