Elsie Thornton

At the age of 86, Mrs. Thornton passed away on May 19, 2007 at Howard County General Hospital. She was born in Grundy, Virginia on September 20, 1920 to Joseph and Linnie Clevenger. Mrs. Thornton formerly resided in Laurel and was a current resident of Elkridge, Maryland. She is the beloved mother of Ellen F. Moore and her husband George, Lois Betts and her husband John and the late Thomas "Roger" Thornton. She is the sister of Norma Jean Haas and the late Nell Maybury. Many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchild and other relatives and friends also survive. On Tuesday, May 22, 2007, her family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Gasch's Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, Maryland, where services will be held on Wednesday, May 23 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions. Envelopes pre-printed with the contribution information will be available at the funeral home.
