Eda Ann Abell, Sis to most, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 10th at the age of 92. at the Sacred Heart Home in Hyattsville, Maryland.

Sis was the born daughter of Gustav Stickley, II and Gladys LaCombe in Rochester, New York on September 12, 1931.

After graduating from the Female Academy of the Sacred Heart in Rochester, New York, Sis went on to work as a dental assistant alongside her work with various community service organizations including So Others Might Eat and the Woman’s Auxiliary Medical Society. On the social side, Sis was able to easily strike up a conversation even when meeting people for the first time and planning social events was a specialty of hers.

Sis is survived by her twin brother, Gustav Stickley, III, and her 10 children: James Abell, Jaqueline Maloney, Vincent Abell, Timothy Abell, Sharon DeRosa, Scott Fields, Jeanette Abell, Tina Jarvis, Douglas Fields, and Jason Abell. In addition, she was blessed with 39  grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Fields, and her second husband, Dr. James Esten Abell.

A viewing for Sis will be held Saturday, October 21st from 9 -10 am directly followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am, both at St. Mark’s Catholic Church located at 7501 Adelphi Road, Hyattsville, MD 20782.

Sis's burial will be held on Friday, October 27th at 10 am at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery located at 2461 Lake Ave, Rochester, NY 14612. Questions about the burial can be answered by Scott Fields at ‭585-752-6463‬.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Sacred Heart Home where Sis spent her final years in the loving care of the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate at https://sacredhearthome.org/giving or checks made out to Sacred Heart Home and sent to 5805 Queens Chapel Road Hyattsville, Maryland 20782  Attention: Ray Alcaraz.
