Earnest "Jack" Wesley Amos, age 91 of Prince Frederick, MD passed peacefully on Friday Morning, October 24, 2025 at Calvert Nursing Center, Calvert County, MD. He was born on May 24, 1934 in Fishersville, Va, a son of the late Earnest Shumaker and Gladys Amos Branch.
Earnest was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Judith Anne. He leaves behind his two daughters, Sherry (Dennis) Ehrlich of Edgewater, MD and Kathy Amos of North Carolina; three granddaughters, Jana (Johnny) Gardner, Amanda (Jake) Hannon and Jennifer Cropper; six great grandchildren, Jessica, Chase, Lizzy, Bailey, Gage and Corey; six great-great grandchildren, Idrith, Izaray, Elias, Infinity, Zale and Isaac.
He worked for McCloud & Romberg as a Stone Mason for 20 years until the business closed. He spend his remaining working years working construction at George Hyman/Clarke Construction Company until his retirement in 1994.
He was a member of St Paul United Methodist Church, Lusby Fireman's Auxiliary and Lusby Senior Center. He developed a love for shooting pool, he participated in and won many tournaments.
His last four years were spent at Calvert Nursing Center where he made many new friends who became a second family to him. He was loved by everyone and will be very missed.
