Denise V. Lattanzi of Manchester Township, PA died peacefully at her home on May 25, 2025 at the age of 68. Prior to moving to Manchester Township in October 2022, she had lived in Laurel, MD.
Denise was born on June 5, 1956 at Whiteman AFB, Missouri to Paul Vinansky and Frances (Bogus) Vinansky. As an Air Force brat, Denise lived in various states and in Germany before moving to Scranton, PA area following her father's retirement from the Air Force in 1972. Denise graduated from Riverside High School in Taylor, PA in 1974. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Clarion State College (now known as PennWest Clarion) in December 1977.Denise became the first female letter carrier for the Scranton, PA post office in 1979. In September 2002, she established the first hot lunch program at Holy Redeemer Catholic School in College Park, MD. She ran the program as well as prepared and cooked all of the meals until her retirement in June 2022. She also catered many special events at Holy Redeemer School.Denise met her husband Frank Lattanzi via a dating service in September 1979. They were married on May 30, 1981.
She is survived by her husband Frank as well as sons Joshua (Paula) and Aaron (Kayla). She was the loving nonna (grandmother) to granddaughters Gabriella and Serena. She is also survived by her brother Robert Vinansky; sister Cindy Cunius and sister-in-law Anna Filmyer and brother-in-law Michael Filmyer. Nieces surviving her are Leah Forrest (Buddy) and Amanda Filmyer. Nephews surviving her are Jared Vinansky, Kyle Vinansky (Abby), Adam Filmyer, Ryan Cunius and Sean Cunius.
.A Memorial Mass for Denise will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 11 am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 4902 Berwyn Road, College Park, MD where Denise was a parishioner and Eucharistic minister before her move to Manchester Township. There will be a visitation from 10 – 11 am.
