Christopher Worthington-May

Chris Worthington May, 45, departed this life on November 16, 2025. Born on March 1, 1980, in Cheverly, MD and raised in College Park, Maryland.

Chris was a devoted son, a good brother, a wonderful uncle, a loyal friend, a good companion, and a proud firefighter.

Chris enjoyed hanging out with friends, spending time with family, going to auctions, building structures, listening to country music, loved driving, helping people, and continued his love of Legos since childhood.

Chris grew up in College Park attending University Park Elementary and later attending St. Mark’s. He graduated from St. Vincent Pallotti High School in 1998.

Chris’ career as a firefighter was preceded by a number of tries at various skills like steelwork, backhoes, rental trucks, and tow trucks. He began firefighting and EMT as a volunteer at Riverdale Fire Department, then Bladensburg Fire Department and then began as a paid firefighter at Naval District of Washington. Later as his health required, he became a Dispatcher with Naval District of Washington. As long as he was able, he continued to volunteer at Bladensburg Fire Department. Driving the fire truck seemed to be his favorite. ❤️

He is survived by his three brothers: Cesar Worthington May, Antonio Worthington May, David Worthington May, and his parents (Shade May & Hannah Worthington).

Chris will be remembered as a giant teddy bear. He cared deeply for people close to him and was their protector.
