Celina Park

February 28, 1931 — April 28, 2020

Celina Yung-Hi (Kwak) Park, of College Park, MD passed away April 28, 2020.  She was 89 years old.
Celina was the proud mother of five children and three grandchildren.  Celina’s greatest love was her
husband of 48 years and her family.


Celina graduated from Ewha Womans University of Seoul, Korea in May 1953.  In September of 1953,
Celina was accepted into the scholarship program as a student of Southern State Teachers College in
Springfield, South Dakota.  After attending this program, Celina worked for several years in Washington,
DC as a clerk for Army Times Publishing and Army Navy Journal, Inc.  Celina met her husband, John
Jai-Won Park in 1957 and they were married on October 25, 1958.

Celina is survived by her children, Paul Park (Jeanmarie), Michael Park (Sarah), Juliana Park (Todd
Tescher), James Park and Nathaniel Park.  Celina is also survived by her three grandchildren, Annelise
Kathleen Park, Zachary John and Benjamin Isaac Tescher.
