Cecilia Baldonado

Cecilia “Chelly” Buan Baldonado, 89 years old, born on March 29, 1932, originally from Moncada, Tarlac (Philippines) and New Carrollton, MD, died peacefully on November 6, 2021.

She was a graduate of Centro Escholar University with a BS in Dentistry. Before migrating to the USA in 1988, she was the Executive Secretary to the Administrator at National Electrification Administration.

She was a devout Catholic and an Opus Dei member.

Relatives and friends call her Manang Chelly, Nang Chelly, Mama Chelly, Nay Chelly, Auntie Chelly, Tita Chelly, Lola Chelly and Lola ko.

She will be remembered as having a generous smile and a loving and thoughtful personality. She never ran out of stories to tell and loved to call everyone on her phone list. Always had a lot of goodies in her bag to give away especially to kids. Her main goal in life was to have her grandchildren know the importance of God.

She is survived by her children, Emma, Raul, Rene and wife Merle and Rolf; her grandchildren, Erwin, Emman, Elmer, Eyel, Nini, Emil, Eric, Ella, Shaun, Paul, Lauren, Julia and Arianne and her great grandchildren, Emmen, Jerwin, CJ, Ericson, Alliah, AJ, Hazel, JD, Aira, Fira, Euniq, Louvelle, Jayden, Kian, Aila and Ellie.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Chelly’s life at Gasch’s Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD on Thursday, November 11th and Friday, November 12th from 4 to 8pm.

The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff of Gilchrest Center Hospice, John Hopkins Hospital, Professional Healthcare Resources and Adventist Hospital for their thoughtful services.
