Barbara Fay (Doolittle) Kelly passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025 in Niceville, Florida, in the loving care of her beloved children. A lifelong Maryland resident, Barbara was born in the District of Columbia on August 13, 1937, to the late Evan and May Doolittle, and raised in their loving home along with her brothers Stanley and Tommy. She was married to her childhood sweetheart, Winfield Maurice Kelly, Jr from the age of fifteen until his passing in 2023. Together they raised seven children, with her oldest Kathleen (Kevin) preceding her in death. A proud, doting and caring mother full time, Barbara still managed to be a vital and supporting partner in all family business. She was pivotal to the success of the very first snow cone truck, the eventual fleet of Food Service trucks, through the various political offices years, and beyond. She was particularly proud of her time as Prince George’s County’s First Lady, as well as the many charities she supported and boards she served on that this afforded her. She was an extremely involved and loving grandmother to her 19 Grandchildren and 25 Great-Grandchildren, with one on the way. Mom-mom was never one to miss an opportunity to express her adoration and love for them. She had a unique ability to make each and every one feel like they were the most important person in the world to her.
Barbara is survived by her children Karen (Michael), Barbara (Kevin), Winfield (Nancy), Christopher, Patrick (Jennifer), Elizabeth (John), and her brother Stanley Doolittle.
