Anita Frances Keane

It is with great sadness we share the passing of our dear Mom, Anita (Ita) Keane, on January 12, 2026. She was an amazing loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt, and friend to so many. We were truly blessed to have her in our lives. Ita was preceded in death by her beloved husband Thomas F. Keane Sr. Ita is survived by her six sons Thomas, Patrick (Mary), Edward (Noreen), Michael (Debi), James (Carrie), and Brian, as well as her ten grandchildren Erin (George), Ryan (Nicole), Megan, Mirinda, Vanessa, Delaney, Brendan (Jenna), Colin, Mary, and Kyleigh, and four great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Trey, Cole and Celine. She is also survived by her sisters Deirdre (Vincent dec.) and Eileen (Des), and brother Declan (Pauline), and pre-deceased by her brothers Ned (Carmel) and Aiden (Patricia), and her sisters Mary Jo (Seamus dec.), Nuala (Leo) and Olive, as well as numerous nieces, grand nieces, nephews, and grand nephews.

Visitation will be on Wednesday 1/21 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Gasch’s Funeral Home in Hyattsville, MD. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday 1/22 at 11am at St. Jerome’s Church in Hyattsville, followed by the burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, MD. A celebration of Mom’s life will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in College Park, MD on Cherry Hill Rd. at 3pm. All are welcome.
