Ralph Edinger

July 29, 1929 — July 16, 2017

Formerly of Washington, D.C., and Greenbelt, MD passed away on July 16, 2017 at Crofton Care nursing home.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Eleanor Brabble, formerly of Oriental, NC; two daughters, Nancy (Larry) Campbell and Lucy (Bruce) Kallal; and two grandsons, Phillip Kallal and William Kallal.

Ralph graduated from McKinley Tech High School in Washington, D.C. He proudly served his country during the Korean War; he was honorably discharged from the Army in 1953. Immediately after, he returned to Washington, D.C., to begin his mortgage banking career. He attended the University of Maryland and graduated from the school of mortgage banking at Northwestern University School of Business. Following his graduation, Ralph spent 23 years at Walker and Dunlop, Inc. During his time there, he served as the vice president and manager of the Loan Administration Department.

After working many years in the mortgage banking industry, Ralph decided to become a realtor. As a skilled realtor, he served as a manager for Long and Foster Real Estate; he retired with over 30 years of service.

Ralph was an active member of the Greenbelt American Legion Post 136. Additionally, he was a very active member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in College Park, MD for 49 years.

The family will receive friends at Gasch’s Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD on Friday, July 21 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 4512 College Avenue, College Park, MD on Saturday, July 22 at 11 am followed by interment at Fort Lincoln Cemetery.
