Setsuko Pendell

Of Riverdale, MD on Thursday, March 20, 2014. She was born and raised in Yokohma, Japan, daughter of the late Yuroku and Toshiko Shishikura, one brother Tashia and sister Kazuko, and nieces and nephews are still residing in Japan. Married to Phillip R. Pendell at the Embassy in Tokyo in 1967 and moved to the US together and had two sons Joseph (Christie) and Paul. She loved books and had been a volunteer librarian at the children's school of St. Bernard's grade school of Riverdale. She also loved gardening and flowers. Her home was filled with flower arrangements all year round and her small garden was full of flowers, which made passersby happy. She also grew organic vegetables and shared them with friends and neighbors. Friends may call at Gasch's Funeral Home, P.A. 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD 20781 on Tuesday, March 25 from 2 to 4 PM. Interment Private.
