On February 25, 2013, of Alexandria, Virginia. Brother of Elizabeth Pels Nash. Also survived by a loyal friend of over 50 years, Richard J. Wadden, and two Godchildren, Vernon C. Payne, III and Lisa Caren Payne. He was preceded in death by his parents, Teresa and Siegfried (Doc) Pels and his brother-in-law, Charles Nash. Friends may call at GASCH'S FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD on Friday, March 1st from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Hugh of Grenoble Catholic Church, 135 Crescent Road, Greenbelt, MD on Saturday, March 2nd at 11am. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 5845 Richmond Highway, Suite 800, Alexandria, VA 22303 or the Carmody Open, c/o Gonzaga College High School, 19 Eye Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20001.
