Ocella Harris

Ocella Harris was born in Atlanta, Georgia on May 15, 1917 to Joe and Mittie Price. She was preceded in death by her family, including 13 siblings. She was joined in holy matrimony with Lafayette Harris who preceded her in death. To this union was born a son and a daughter. On April 24, 1954, Ocella and her two children were baptized in the Catholic faith at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Detroit, Michigan. Ocella was a loving mother who was devoted to helping her children throughout their lives. However, she was a true humanitarian. She loved meeting and helping people. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, and writing letters.
After a beautiful life well lived, Ocella departed this world on April 28, 2016 to return home to her Heavenly Father. She leaves to cherish her memory one son Anthony Harris; one daughter Carolyn Jones; two granddaughters Chantell Jones and Tiffany Harris; four great-grandchildren Kashmere Zellner, Isaiah Jones, Jaslyne Lee, and Daqwarius Riley.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 4902 Berwyn Road, College Park, MD at 12 noon, with friends gathering at 11:30 AM. Interment Private.
