Passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014 with her children and grandchildren by her side at Holy Cross Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Preceded in death by husband, John V. Motta Jr. and brother Fred Verant. Mother of Jeannette Ripley (Robert), Carolanne Linder, and John V. Motta III (Marie). Grandmother to Bobbi Jean Ripley, Joanne Dial (Steven), and Robert Ripley Jr. Great Grandmother to Dylan and Reagan Beloved Sister of Jerry Verant (Marilyn) and Betty Jean Harwood. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. The family will receive guests at Gasch's Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD on Monday, September 29th from 3 to 6 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 30 at 11:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 7201 Annapolis Road, Landover Hills, MD. Interment Cheltenham Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations are to be made in Frances' name to the Anne Arundel SPCA, 1815 Bay Ridge Ave., Annapolis, MD 21403.
