Annie Wimmer

On Monday, April 11th, 2016, age 98, of Hyattsville, MD. Daughter of the late James and Florida Sheets. Loving mother of Shirley l. Chapin, Roy (Gwyn Plauger) Wimmer, Connie (Gene) Lilly, John (Candace) Wimmer and Richard Wimmer. Survived by 12 grandchildren: Karen Lilly Nims, Wayne Chapin, Teresa Chapin-Taylor, Gene Lilly, Jr., Phillip Chapin, Jay Wimmer, Anna Wimmer, Crystal Chapin, Dawn Wimmer, Jeremy Carson, Johnna Wimmer, Josh Wimmer; 23 great grandchildren: Tina Bonnefond-Gayo, Meagan Lilly, Brett Nims, Corey Nims, Alex Lilly, Justin Culley, Maxwell Tayman, Julie McClure, Nick McClure, Justin Chapin, Allana Opsahl, Valyncia Galloway, Alyssa Bell, Tyler Bell, Morgan Chapin, Brooks Chapin, Mathew Chapin, Hunter Wright, Bryce Wright, Madison Wimmer, Marissa Wimmer, Jaylynne Wimmer and Adriana Wimmer; and three great great grandchildren: Jay Timothy Gayo, Ethan Gayo and Bruce Schutt. She was preceded in death by six sisters: Ella Mae Sheets, Laura Frances Sheets, Mary Virginia Sheets, Sarah Margaret Sheets, Hazel Ruth Sheets and Osie Sheets; seven brothers: Robert Leslie Sheets, Crocket Bowen Sheets, John Alexander Sheets, William K. Sheets, James Estel Sheets and George Harry Sheets; a great grandson, Adrian Chapin, daughters-in-law Barbara and Lyanna Wimmer and a nephew, Henry Van Dyke.

A mother's love is irreplaceable, which makes losing her to death an incredibly painful experience. Mothers are faithful companions and confidants even in the most difficult times. Heaven has gained another beautiful angel. Maw Maw dedicated her life to caring and providing for her children, their families and all who knew her. She has been a blessing to all of us and will always be loved and missed.

Friends may call at Gasch's Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD on Thursday, April 14th from 5 to 9pm where a service will be held on Friday, April 15th at 11am. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery.
