Sister Gioconda was born on December 29, 1920 in Buenos Aires to her parents, Francesco and Concetta Gaglianone.

Entered into Little Worker of the Sacred Hearts on November 20, 1945

Entered in Noviziate on October 30, 1946

First Vows on November 1, 1947

Final Profession on January 21, 1951 in the United States

Left to Stamford (USA) on October 18, 1948

She first worked in the seminary at DeMatha Catholic High School

From 1974 to 1980 she worked at Sacred Hearts Nursery School in Riverdale, Maryland.

From 1980 to 1986 she worked in daycare in Philadelphia and returned to Sacred Hearts Nursery in Riverdale, Maryland until 2011.

On October 12, 2011 she moved to Sacred Heart Nursing Home in Hyattsville, Maryland where she lived for six years.

Sister Gioconda passed away August 9, 2017.

Visitation will be held at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, 5205 Forty-third Avenue Hyattsville, Maryland on Wednesday, August 16 from 9 am until time of Funeral Mass at 10 am. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, Maryland. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Little Worker of the Sacred Hearts, 4805 Queensbury Road, Riverdale, MD 20737.
