Rachele B. (Bowyer) SchultzMay 14, 1923 ~ May 2, 2017 (age 93)
On May 2, 2017, at the age of 93, of Berwyn Heights, MD. Beloved wife of the late Victor P. Schultz. The proud mother of Susan Mauck, Duane Schultz, Mark Schultz, Brian Schultz, Scott Schultz and Vicki Meechum. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her youngest sister, Joyce Heaton, of Satellite Beach, FL, grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her two sons, David and Stephen Schultz, as well as her four brothers, Hampton, Nelson, Landon and Wesley Bowyer and three of her sisters, Betty Hogan, Edna King, and Elsie Welch. Rachele was born at home on the family farm in Union, Virginia and was the 7th of 9 children born to the late Robert and Effie Nester Bowyer. She graduated from Montvale High School in 1940. After graduating from high school, she moved to Washington D.C. where she met and married the love of her life, Victor P. Schultz, in 1942. Rachele was very proud of her association with many of “The Bedford Boys”, the 19 young men from Bedford, VA who were killed on June 6, 1944, during the D-Day invasion. Rachele was an avid Orioles and Redskins fan and deeply loved helping others and working in the church. She was an expert baker and was noted for her desserts. A memorial service will be held at the Greenbelt Baptist Church, 101 Greenhill Road, Greenbelt, MD 20770 at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to your favorite charity in her name.
