Marcelle Enkiri

March 8, 1925 — March 31, 2018

Marcelle Enkiri, a long time resident of Cheverly, MD and a devout parishioner of St. Ambrose, passed away on March 31, 2018, at the age of 93, at Gilchrist Center in Columbia, Maryland. She was born on March 8, 1925 in Jerusalem, Palestine. A daughter of the late John and Hanneh Morcos. She was predeceased by her husband, Fouad Enkiri, a son, Philip Enkiri and two sisters, Chloe Alcock and Laurice Morcos. She is survived by two sons, Nino (Sue) Enkiri of Bethany Beach, DE, and John (Sharon) Enkiri of Columbia MD. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Sean Enkiri (Burke Speaker) of Denver, CO, Christine (Matthew) Swann of Wheat Ridge, CO, Laura Enkiri of Kensington, MD, Elizabeth Enkiri of CT, Alec (Katie) Enkiri of Jacksonville FL, Clare (Jack) Kelly of Bethesda MD, Michelle Enkiri of VA, and Paul Enkiri of Kensington, MD, four great-grandchildren, Amina and Seda Swann of Wheat Ridge, CO and Lila and Maeve Kelly of Bethesda MD; a brother, Anthony Morcos, and two sisters, Yvette Morcos of Silver Spring, MD and Yvonne Kivorkian of CA.

Marcelle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her passions included family time, family dinners, and playing cards with family and friends. Her favorite pasttime was reading. Her absence will be keenly felt by all. She was a loyal employee of PG Hospital where she worked for 30 years and, upon retiring, continued as a volunteer at the hospital through her church. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the extraordinary staff at Gilchrist Center who provided her last days with loving care and compassion.

Family and friends may call at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 3107 63rd Avenue, Cheverly, MD on Wednesday, April 11th between 6 and 8 pm. A Mass will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Thursday, April 12th at 11 am. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gilchrist Center of Howard County, 11311 McCormick Rd., Ste. 350, Hunt Valley, MD 21031.
