Freda Nicol

Age 91

On October 2, 2017 of Ames, Iowa, later Washington D.C. (except for a decade spent in Venezuela) passed away peacefully. Daughter of the late Bernard Dodder and Margaret Dodder. Beloved mom to Henry (Nick) Nicol III, Elizabeth (Beth) Nicol O’Marr, and the late William Robert (Rob) Nicol. Grammy to William Robert Jr. (Nicky), Gregg, Erin, Henry (Nick) IV, Katie and Casey. Avid and medal winning swimmer in youth, swam with the Water Follies and Buster Crabbe after high school. Worked at Safeway Milk Plant as Office Assistant until health forced her to retire. She loved to paint, work with ceramics, knit, read, collect antiques, travel, go to the beach, junk-shop shopping and visit with friends. She loved to eat blue crabs, crab cakes, and BBQ. She belonged to the Hyattsville Presbyterian Church until closed then to University Christian Church.
